Just Fishing:

I had the pleasure of taking two local men fishing on October the 17th. And by fishing, I mean just that!!  The lake was bluebird with no wind, no bait, and no fish showing on the sonar – no where!! I was slipping into panic mode!!  This was a 1/2 day trip with a 3 pm launch and we only had four babies at 4:30!   So we went hunting and found a spot showing a few fish on the sonar, but nothing to write home about.   So we decided to just fish it!!   I instructed them to fish the baits slow and you didn’t have to tell them twice. You have to remember that these bass are not only good, but very good hunters.  They will seek out and find the bait, so leaving it in place with a small jiggle now and then is the ticket on bluebird days.  We were using Dodge rigs of course!  We quit at 7pm with the clients boating 42! 

I used up a day of fishing magic on two of the most wonderful elderly gentlemen you can imagine! Photos are of Eugene and Fred together and Fred fishing the Dodge Rig to perfection! When I told Fred not to move it he didn’t move it, and man did he smoke um.
